No matter what the season, there is plenty to do in the Crivitz area. Springtime is special here at the Peshtigo River Inn. The warm weather brings spring melt down, and with it, whitewater rafting on the Peshtigo River, the best whitewater rafting in the Midwest. Several area outfitters offer guided trips starting in early April.

In addition, the spring thaw activates the many waterfalls in Marinette County. Many are accessible to the public. A tour map is available through Marinette County.

Summer brings a multitide of recreational opportunities with nearby hiking and biking trails as well as abundant water resources for swimming, boating and fishing. We are close to the Nicolet National Forest as well as the Peshtigo River State Forest and Governor Thompson State Park surrounding HIgh Falls and Caldron Falls Flowages.

Marinette County has over 200 lakes and 2,000 miles of streams plus 19 County Parks and 231,000 acres of County Forest Land. Fishing opportunities range from panfish to trophy Muskies and everything in between.

The local waterski team performs twice weeking in the summer on Lake Noquebay, just a few miles north. The avid golfer will enjoy the variety of top notch golf courses nearby and the treasure hunter will find an abundance of antique, gift and novelty stores in the area waiting to be explored.

Autumn brings the changing of the landscape as it becomes alive with fall color. The color change is drawn out over a month, usaully from mid-September to mid-October, as the wide variety of trees take their turn to change and loose their leaves. From the early Maples with their billiant yellows and reds to the late season Oaks with their deep gold and rust colors, you can be sure to catch part of the show an any fall weekend.

Marinette County is also a popular destination for the hunter, and local species include bear, turkey and whitetail deer. There are many public hunting areas available for your use.

Things don't slow down in Winter. The snow and cold brings snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. We are located at the junction of two snowmobile trail systems which connect you to all of Marinette County and beyond to the Nicolet National Forest and the UP. In addition, there are groomed cross country ski trails just west of Crivitz as well as in the nearby Nicolet National Forest. Equipment rental is available locally.

There are many locally sponsored winter activities including ice fishing derbies, snowmobile races and winter festivals. Local snowmobile clubs also sponser brat fries and poker runs to help raise money for the upkeep of local trails.

Come join us for some of the fun that we have here at the Peshtigo River Inn. We hope to see you soon.
